Hay-Fed Cows

Our dairy cows are fed high-quality hay, including premium alfalfa, along with a small amount of corn mineral to provide additional vitamins and minerals as they are milking. Our beef cows are fed hay— and that’s it!

For our beef, this results in more marbling, healthier animals, and cleaner tasting beef. For our cheese, it ensures the flavor and creaminess in our milk to final product!

We have a nutritionist that comes once a month to check our cows and make sure all ours cows (the ones just born to our older cows) are getting the exact nutrients they need at their time of life!

We believe in never rushing the butchering process and caring for our animals their whole life until they reach butchering stage. Most of our cows that are butchered are over 2 years old!

If you have more questions on our cow's diet, we'd love to talk! We could talk for hours about our cows :)

Hanging Pound vs. Finished Pound

Hanging pounds is the weight related to the cow once it's butchered and "off the hoof". Hanging weight is usually about 60-70% of the live weight.

Finished pound or packaged weight is about 60-65% of the hanging weight depending on the type of cuts chosen, bones vs. boneless. and the unique butchering process.

What is Single-Source?

Single-Source means that all the products butchered and sold is from ONE cow.

Most beef in the grocery store is multiple cows mixed together in the ground beef or steaks from several different sources.

You never have to guess where you beef comes from!

This is why our beef is very limited and has better quality than anything you find in grocery stores.
